Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
