The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By those who drag forth to destruction, 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will undergo terrible trembling, 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What! when we are rotten bones? 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 and directed him: “Go to Pharaoh, he has rebelled, 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But [Pharaoh] gave him the lie and rebelliously rejected [all guidance,] 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
