Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Has the story reached thee of the overwhelming (Event)? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 no food for them except thorny plants 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They shall be in a Garden lofty: 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 with a flowing spring, 12 Therein will be Thrones (of dignity), raised on high, 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not then ponder how the clouds were formed; 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the Mountains, how they are fixed firm?- 19 And at the Earth, how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 and are not invested with the authority to compel them. 22 However, he who turns away and disbelieves - 23 Allah will chastise him with the most terrible chastisement. 24 For to Us will be their return; 25 And Ours their reckoning. 26
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
