By no means! By the moon, 32 Consider the night when it departs, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 it is a warning to man, 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 About the criminals, 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As though they were frightened asses 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay, verily. Lo! this is an Admonishment. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
