The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 Soon an easy account will be taken from him. 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 Will pray for death, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
