The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 he has been created out of a seminal fluid 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely He is able to bring him back 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
