Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 [Some] faces, that Day, will be humbled, 2 labouring, weary, 3 They will enter in the hot blazing Fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Which will neither fatten nor avail against hunger. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad for their effort past, 9 In an elevated garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 Therein will be a bubbling spring: 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And cups set at hand. 14 well-placed cushions, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And at the earth, how it is outspread? 20 Therefore do thou give admonition, for thou art one to admonish. 21 Thou art not one to manage (men's) affairs. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 for behold, unto Us will be their return, 25 Then verily on Us is their reckoning. 26
