Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa) before The Afternoon (Al-'Asr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Did We not widen your bosom? 1 relieved you of the burden 2 that had weighed so heavily on thy back? 3 And We have upraised for thee thy renown. 4 And behold, with every hardship comes ease: 5 Verily, with the hardship, there is relief (i.e. there is one hardship with two reliefs, so one hardship cannot overcome two reliefs). 6 So when you have finished [your duties], then stand up [for worship]. 7 And to your Lord (Alone) turn (all your intentions and hopes and) your invocations. 8
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
