Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned aside to his family secretly and brought a fat (roasted) calf, 26 and placed it before them, saying, "Will you not eat?" 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They answered: "Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and verily, He alone is truly wise, all-knowing!" 30 ۞ [Abraham] said, "Then what is your business [here], O messengers?" 31 They answered: "Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin, 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the afflictive torment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 Then they disdained the command of their Lord; wherefore the bolt laid hold of them even while they looked on. 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
