The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
The Hour of Resurrection drew near and the moon split asunder. 1 And if they behold a portent they turn away and say: Prolonged illusion. 2 They have belied, and follow their own fancies. But, every issue will be settled! 3 And indeed there has come to them news (in this Quran) wherein there is (enough warning) to check (them from evil), 4 Extensive wisdom - but warning does not avail [them]. 5 turn thou away from them. On the Day when the Summoning Voice will summon [man] unto something that the mind cannot conceive, 6 they will come forth from their graves, with their eyes downcast, [swarming about] like locusts scattered [by the wind,] 7 Hastening to the inviter. The unbelievers shall say: This is a hard day. 8 ۞ Before them the people of Nuh rejected, so they rejected Our servant and called (him) mad, and he was driven away. 9 Then he called upon His Lord: “Verily I am vanquished; so come You to my aid.” 10 Then opened We the gates of heaven with pouring water 11 and We made the earth burst forth with springs, and all this water converged to fulfil that which had been decreed. 12 We bore him on an [ark] which, made of planks and nails, 13 Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied. 14 And certainly We left it as a sign, but is there anyone who 15 How was then My punishment and My commination! 16 We have made the Koran easy to remember, is there any that will remember! 17 'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 18 We sent a tumultuous wind against them on a day of unremitting misfortune, 19 Plucking out men as if they were roots of palm-trees torn up (from the ground). 20 How was then My punishment and My commination! 21 And We have indeed made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 22
