The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful One 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man. 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 Do not transgress the scales. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain you men and jinn then deny? 25
