Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the night enshrouding 1 And [by] the day when it appears 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 As for him who gives and is godfearing 5 And testifieth to the Good, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 and he belied the finest 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 And what will his wealth benefit him when he goes down (in destruction). 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 and to Us belong the Last and the First. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None shall enter it but the most unhappy, 15 even he who cried lies, and turned away; 16 But save him who fears 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And is under no one's obligation to return his favour, 19 But only seeking the Countenance of his Lord the Most High. 20 and before long he will be well satisfied. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
