3/4 Hizb 45
< random >
Noah had verily called to Us. And how gracious was He who answered (him). 75 We saved him and his family from the great affliction, 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Thus do We surely reward the doers of good. 80 Surely he was one of Our truly believing servants. 81 Afterwards We drowned the others. 82 ۞ Verily among those who followed his Way was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a sound heart 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Is it a falsehood - gods beside Allah - that ye desire? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 And said: "I am sick (of what you worship)!" 89 But they turned their backs on him and went away. 90 Then he turned to their aliha (gods) and said: "Will you not eat (of the offering before you)? 91 What ails you, that you speak not?' 92 Then he turned upon them, striking them with his right hand, 93 Then they advanced toward him, hastening. 94 but he said, "How can you worship things you carve with your own hands, 95 "When God has created you and what you make?" 96 They said, "Build a pyre for him and throw him into the blaze!" 97 They wanted to harm him, but We humiliated them all. 98 He said: "I will go to my Lord! He will surely guide me! 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 So We gave him the good news of a boy ready to suffer and forbear. 101 And when he reached the age when he could work with him, he said, "O my son, I have seen in a dream that I am sacrificing you. So tell me what you think of it!" He replied, "O my father, do as you are commanded; and God willing, you will find me steadfast." 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called unto him: O Abraham! 104 You have indeed shown the truth of the vision; surely thus do We reward the doers of good: 105 Verily that! that was a trial manifest. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We left (this blessing) for him among generations (to come) in later times: 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus indeed do We reward the Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 110 He is indeed one of Our high ranking, firmly believing bondmen. 111 And We gave him good tidings of Isaac, a prophet from among the righteous. 112 We blessed him and Isaac: but of their progeny are (some) that do right, and (some) that obviously do wrong, to their own souls. 113
