The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Merciful 1 Has taught (you mankind) the Quran (by His Mercy). 2 Created man, 3 Has taught him the knowledge of the past and the future. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 In order that you may not corrupt the balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 therein fruits, and palm-trees with sheaths, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Between them is a barrier which they cannot pass. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the ships displayed upon the sea, like banners. 24 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 25
