Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent - 1 Who hath created death and life that He might prove you, as to which of you is excellent in work. And He is the Mighty, the Forgiver. 2 Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts? 3 Then return your gaze once more and yet again, your gaze comes back to you dazzled, and tired. 4 And indeed We have adorned the nearest heaven with lamps, and We have made such lamps (as) missiles to drive away the Shayatin (devils), and have prepared for them the torment of the blazing Fire. 5 for, suffering in hell awaits all who are [thus] bent on blaspheming against their Sustainer: and how vile a journey's end! 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth. 7 It almost bursts up with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its keeper will ask: "Did no warner come to you?" 8 They will reply: "Yea, a warner did indeed come unto us, but we gave him the lie and said, 'Never has God sent down anything [by way of revelation]! You [self-styled warners] are but lost in a great delusion!"' 9 And they say: Had we been wont to listen or have sense, we had not been among the dwellers in the flames. 10 So will they confess their guilt. Deprived (of all joys) will be the inmates of Hell. 11 Indeed, those who fear their Lord unseen will have forgiveness and great reward. 12 And whether you speak softly or proclaim it aloud; He indeed knows what lies within the hearts! 13 Should He not know,- He that created? and He is the One that understands the finest mysteries (and) is well-acquainted (with them). 14
