Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 Neither his wealth nor his gains will avail him. 2 He shall soon burn in fire that flames, 3 and so too will his wife who (threw thorns and firewood in the Prophet's way). 4 Will have a strap of fibre rope around her neck. 5

God the Almighty always says the truth.
