And recite to them the news of Abraham, 69 He said to his father and to his nation: 'What do you worship' 70 They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." 71 He said: hearken they unto you when ye cry? 72 or do they profit you, or harm?' 73 They said: "No. But we found our fathers doing so." 74 He said: 'Have you considered what you worship, 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 Yet they are my enemies except the Lord of all the worlds 77 Who created me and showed me the way, 78 He Who feedeth me and giveth me to drink. 79 "And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. 80 And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life 81 and who, [hope, will forgive me my faults on Judgment Day! 82 My Lord, bestow wisdom upon me; unite me with the righteous; 83 And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations. 84 And put me among the inheritors of Paradise. 85 And forgive my father. Lo! he is of those who err. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 The Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail, 88 "But only he (will prosper) that brings to Allah a sound heart; 89 And Paradise will be brought near to the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2). 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 The idol worshippers, the idols, the rebellious ones, 94 and the hosts of iblis all together. 95 "They will say there in their mutual bickerings: 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 It is none but those steeped in guilt who led us into this error, 99 Now we have no intercessors 100 nor a loving friend. 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
