Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 and the severally severing 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 [promising] freedom from blame or [offering] a warning! 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what Day are these signs postponed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 Then We will follow them with the later ones. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 Then We placed it in a place of safety (womb), 21 for an appointed term? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 Depart to that which you belied! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 which neither provides (cooling) shade nor protection against the flames; 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not be able to speak. 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
