The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 They sat by it 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 They had no other reason for hating them except that they believed in God the mighty, worthy of praise, 8 God to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and God is Witness over everything. 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 VERILY, thy Sustainer's grip is exceedingly strong! 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 Always doing whatever He wills. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 of the Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet the infidels persist in denial. 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 that exists in a well-guarded tablet. 22
