The companions of the thicket denied the messengers 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 I am for you an honest Messenger. 178 So fear Allah and obey me. 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ "Maintain just measure in your business and do not cause loss to others. 181 And weigh (things) with a right balance, 182 and diminish not the goods of the people, and do not mischief in the earth, working corruption. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and the generations of the men of old." 184 They said, “You are under a magic spell.” 185 for thou art nothing but a mortal like ourselves! And behold, we think that thou art a consummate liar! 186 "So cause a piece of the heaven to fall on us, if you are of the truthful!" 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 Then they branded him a liar, whereupon the chastisement of the Day of Canopy overtook them. It was the chastisement of a very awesome day. 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 Yet verily your Lord is mighty and merciful. 191
