The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
O you (Muhammad SAW) enveloped (in garments)! 1 Rise up and warn! 2 And proclaim the Purity of your Lord. 3 And your clothing purify 4 And uncleanliness avoid 5 and do not think that by doing such deeds, you have done a great favor to God. 6 And persevere in the way of your Lord. 7 For when the trumpet is sounded, 8 that very Day shall be a day of anguish, 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 LEAVE Me alone [to deal] with him whom I have created alone, 11 And gave him abundant wealth 12 and sons ever present with him, 13 To whom I made (life) smooth and comfortable! 14 and yet, he greedily desires that I give him even more! 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 and I shall constrain him to a hard ascent. 17 He reflected and then hatched a scheme. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Again (self-)destroyed is he, how he planned! - 20 Then he looked, 21 Then he frowned and scowled; 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 He said, 'This is naught but a trumped-up sorcery; 24 this is nothing but the word of a mere mortal!” 25 Him shall I fling unto the burning. 26 What will let you know what the Scorching is like! 27 It leaves and spares no one and nothing. 28 and it burns the flesh. 29 Over it are nineteen keepers. 30 We have not appointed the guards of hell, except angels; and did not keep this number except to test the disbelievers – in order that the People given the Book(s) may be convinced, and to increase the faith of the believers – and so that the People given the Book(s) and the Muslims may not have any doubt – and so that those in whose hearts is a disease and the disbelievers, may say, “What does Allah mean by this amazing example?” This is how Allah sends astray whomever He wills, and guides whomever He wills; and no one knows the armies of Allah except Him; and this is not but an advice to man. 31
