Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 And those that bear the burden (of the rain) 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 (And it will be said unto them): Taste your torment (which ye inflicted). This is what ye sought to hasten. 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 For those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
