Seest thou one who turns back, 33 Who gives but little, and is niggardly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And (of) Ibrahim who fulfilled (the commandments): 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop (of seed) when it is poured forth; 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And before them, the people of Nooh? Indeed they were more unjust and more rebellious than these! 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So there covered them that which did cover (i.e. torment with stones). 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
