The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Allah, the Most Gracious 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and moon revolve to a computation; 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 and heaven -- He raised it up, and set the Balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 And observe the weight with equity, and make not deficient the balance. 9 And He appointed the earth for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From both of them emerge pearl and coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
