Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not your tongue concerning (the Quran, O Muhammad SAW) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
