۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 Besides Allah, then lead them to the way to hell. 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 indeed, on that Day they will surrender themselves. 26 And they will advance toward each other mutually questioning. 27 They said, “It is you who used to come to us from our right, in order to sway.” 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators." 32 On that Day they will all share the punishment: 33 Verily that is how We shall deal with Sinners. 34 They were those who, when it was said to them, "There is no god but God," behaved with insolence, 35 And said: "Should we abandon our gods for the sake of an insane poet?" 36 In fact, he had brought them the truth and had acknowledged the Messengers (who were sent before him). 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do - 39 Except the chosen creatures of God, 40 For them awaits a known provision, 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 seated on couches, facing one another. 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White, delicious to those who drink. 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 Can we, when we are dead and have become mere dust and bones - can we (then) verily be brought to book? 53 (A voice) said: "Would ye like to look down?" 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 He will say to his friend in hell, "By God, you almost destroyed me. 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 But then, [O my friends in paradise,] is it [really] so that we are not to die 58 except for our first death? And shall we suffer no chastisement?'” 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 and for the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 Truly We have made it (as) a trail for the Zalimun (polytheists, disbelievers, wrong-doers, etc.). 63 Verily, it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-fire, 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 on it they shall feed, and with it they shall fill their bellies. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then shall their return be to the (Blazing) Fire. 68 They found their fathers erring, 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples, 71 And verily We sent among them warners. 72 Then look how was the end of those who were warned - 73 except for God's sincere servants. 74
