Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 then the bearers of weight (the clouds), 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 and the partitioners, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Certainly, you have different ideas (about Muhammad SAW and the Quran). 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 they used to sleep but little by night, 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
