Have you [Prophet] considered the man who turned away, 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 and about Abraham who fulfilled his duty (to God)? 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that man will not obtain anything except what he strove for? 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Thereafter he shall be recompensed therefor with the fullest recompense. 41 that all things in the end shall return to God; 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He createth the pair, the male and the female. 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 And that on Him is the bringing forth a second time; 47 and that it is He who gives wealth and riches, 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And the subverted cities He overthrew. 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Imminent is near at hand; 57 none except Allah can disclose it. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 while you are thoughtless? 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
