Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
