Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 Then by oath of those that lift and carry. 3 And those [angels] who bring criterion 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 So when the lights of the stars are put out. 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 And when the mountains are made into dust and blown away. 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 If one asks, "To which day have such calamitous events been postponed?" 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what will explain to you what is the Day of sorting out? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 Thus do We deal with men of sin. 18 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 We then kept it in a safe place. 21 For a known extent. 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 The living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to that shadow, rising in three columns 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 So if you have a plot, use it against Me (Allah)! 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
