The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Read! In the name of your Lord, who created: 1 Created man from an embryo; 2 Recite! Your Lord is the most Honorable One, 3 Who has taught (the writing) by the pen [the first person to write was Prophet Idrees (Enoch)]. 4 taught the human what he did not know. 5 Indeed, surely the human is very insolent 6 As he considers himself independent! 7 for, behold, unto thy Sustainer all must return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a servant [of God] from praying? 10 Bethinkest thou, if he is himself guided, 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Have you seen if he denies and turns away - 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Yes certainly, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock. 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Then let him summon his council, 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 No, not at all. Never obey him. But prostrate yourself and become nigh (to your Lord). ۩ 19
True are the words of God the Almighty.
