Have the unbelievers not seen that the heavens and the earth were sewn up as one (solid) mass, then We unstitched them, and that We made every living thing of water? Will they not believe! 30 And We have placed mountains as anchors in the earth so that it may not shake with them; and We kept wide roads in it, so that they may find guidance. 31 And We made the sky a well-protected roof. Still they turn away from His signs! 32 and [fail to see that] it is He who has created the night and the day and the sun and the moon - all of them floating through space! 33 And We appointed not for any human being before thee immortality; if thou then diest, are they to be immortals? 34 Every living being must taste death; and We test you with harm and with good – a trial; and to Us only you have to return. 35 (Muhammad), whenever the unbelievers see you, they think that you deserve nothing more than to be mocked. They say, "Is it he, (Muhammad), who speaks against your gods?" But they themselves have no faith at all in the Beneficent God. 36 Man is a creature of haste: soon (enough) will I show you My Signs; then ye will not ask Me to hasten them! 37 And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" 38 If the unbelievers but knew when that they shall not ward off the Fire from their faces nor from their backs, neither shall they be helped! 39 Aye! it would come upon them on a sudden and shall dumbfound them; they shall not be able to avert it, nor shall they be respited. 40 And indeed, [O Muhammad, even] before thy time have [God's] apostles been derided - but those who scoffed at them were [in the end] overwhelmed by the very thing which they had been wont to deride. 41
