Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The indubitable event! 1 What is the Inevitable Hour? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 Thamood and Ad cried lies to the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 and as for Ad, they were destroyed by a wind clamorous, 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Do you then see of them one remaining? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 and rebelled against their Sustainer's apostles: and so He took them to task with a punishing grasp exceedingly severe! 10 Verily when the water rose to great heights, We bore you upon a floating vessel (i.e. the Ark) 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains will be lifted up and crushed with a single crush. 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels are at its edges. And there will bear the Throne of your Lord above them, that Day, eight [of them]. 17 That Day shall you be brought to Judgement, not a secret of you will be hidden. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Surely I knew that I shall meet my account. 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in an exalted garden 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 Eat and drink with benefit for that which ye sent on beforehand in days past. 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 “And had never come to know my account!” 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 My riches have availed me not; 28 There hath perished from me my authority. 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 Then cast him to be burnt in Hell; 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 And urged not on the feeding of the wretched. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 "Nor hath he any food except the corruption from the washing of wounds, 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
