The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 and roast at the Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
