Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful

I CALL TO witness the early hours of morning, 1 And by oath of the night when it covers, 2 (O Prophet), your Lord has neither forsaken you, nor is He displeased. 3 And the Hereafter is better for you than the first [life]. 4 And indeed, in time will thy Sustainer grant thee [what thy heart desires,] and thou shalt be well-pleased. 5 Has He not found thee an orphan, and given thee shelter? 6 And He found thee wandering, so He guided thee, 7 And find you in want and make you to be free from want? 8 Do not oppress the orphans 9 and do not chide the one who asks for help; 10 But as for the favor of your Lord, report [it]. 11

True are the words of God the Almighty.
