Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
All praise is due to Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth and made the darkness and the light; yet those who disbelieve set up equals with their Lord. 1 He it is who created you of clay and then decreed a term - and a term determined is with Him - yet ye waver. 2 And He is Allah (the God) of the heavens and in the earth; He knows all, your secrets and your disclosures, and He knows your deeds. 3 And there does not come to them any communication of the communications of their Lord but they turn aside from it 4 And now they reject the truth when it reaches them: but soon shall they learn the reality of what they used to mock at. 5 Do they not consider how many a generation We have destroyed before them, whom We had established in the earth as We have not established you, and We sent the clouds pouring rain on them in abundance, and We made the rivers to flow beneath them, then We destroyed them on account of their faults and raised up after them another generation. 6 Had We sent down to you a Book on parchment and they touched it with their own hands, those who disbelieved would say: 'This is nothing but plain magic' 7 'Why has an angel not been sent down on him?' they say; yet had We sent down an angel, the matter would have been determined, and then no respite would be given them. 8 Indeed, if We had sent an angel as messenger, We would have made him in the form of a man as well, and would have thus added to their confusion. 9 And indeed (many) Messengers were mocked before you, but their scoffers were surrounded by the very thing that they used to mock at. 10
