And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin. 31 (viii) Do not even approach fornication for it is an outrageous act, and an evil way. 32 Nor take life - which Allah has made sacred - except for just cause. And if anyone is slain wrongfully, we have given his heir authority (to demand qisas or to forgive): but let him not exceed bounds in the matter of taking life; for he is helped (by the Law). 33 And do not approach the property of an orphan, except in the way that is best, until he reaches maturity. And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned. 34 And fill up the measure when you measure, and weigh with the straight balance; that is better and fairer in the issue. 35 Do not follow what you do not know. The hearing, sight and heart about all these you shall be questioned. 36 And do not strut about the land with insolence: Surely you cannot cleave the earth, nor attain the height of mountains in stature. 37 All that - its evil is ever, in the sight of your Lord, detested. 38 That is from what your Lord has revealed to you, [O Muhammad], of wisdom. And, [O mankind], do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity, lest you be thrown into Hell, blamed and banished. 39 What, has your Lord favoured you with sons and taken to Himself from the angels females? Surely it is a monstrous thing you are saying! 40
