The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 and from idle talk turn away 3 And they who are observant of zakah 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 And those who of their trusts and covenant are keepers. 8 And those who strictly guard their (five compulsory congregational) Salawat (prayers) (at their fixed stated hours). 9 Such are the inheritors 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 then We made him into a drop of life-germ, then We placed it in a safe depository, 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 After that, surely, you will die. 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And indeed in the cattle is a lesson for you; We give you to drink what is in their bellies, and there are many benefits for you in them, and in them is your food. 21 And upon them and on ships you are carried. 22
