And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 in clear Arabic speech. 195 And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples. 196 Is it not a token for them that the doctors of the Children of Israel know it? 197 And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners 198 And he had read it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus do We make it traverse the hearts of the guilty. 200 They will not believe in it to the extent that they see the painful punishment. 201 And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not. 202 and then they will say: 'Shall we be respited' 203 Do they wish Us then to hasten the punishment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 And then cometh that which they were promised, 206 of what avail would their past enjoyment be to them? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 And this Qur’an was not brought down by the devils. 210 It behoveth them not, nor they can. 211 Lo! verily they are banished from the hearing. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 and warn your nearest kinsmen; 214 And lower thou thy wing unto those who follow thee as believers. 215 But if they disobey you, then say: Surely I am clear of what you do. 216 Have trust in the Majestic and All-merciful God, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 and when thou turnest about among those who bow. 219 He is All-hearing and All-knowing." 220 Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend? 221 They descend on every guilty impostor. 222 The devils convey upon them what they heard, but most of them are liars. 223 As for the poets, only those who go astray follow them. 224 Do you not see how they wander aimlessly in every valley, 225 And that they say what they practise not?- 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
