Hizb 46
< random >
So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 and cast lots, and he was among the losers (of the lots that were cast). 141 Then he was swallowed by a large fish as he was worthy of blame. 142 Had he not been one of those who glorify Allah, 143 He would have remained in its belly till the day when all will be raised. 144 ۞ We then put him ashore on a plain, and he was sick. 145 We made a plant of gourd grow up for him. 146 And We sent him to [his people of] a hundred thousand or more. 147 And they came to believe; so We allowed them to enjoy the good things of life for an age. 148 So ask them for a pronouncement -- Has thy Lord daughters, and they sons? 149 Or that We created the angels female, and they are witnesses (thereto)? 150 Now surely it is of their own lie that they say: 151 Allah has begotten; and most surely they are liars. 152 (And again of their falsehood): He hath preferred daughters to sons. 153 What is the matter with you? How judge ye? 154 Will ye not then be admonished? 155 Do you have clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you speak truly! 157 And they have made between Him and the jinn a kinship whereas the jinn assuredly know that they are to be brought up 158 limitless is God in His glory, above anything that men may devise by way of definition! 159 But not so the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 160 for, verily, neither you [blasphemers] nor the objects of your worship 161 can lure away from God any 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 "There is not one of us who does not have his appointed place," (declare the angels.) 164 and, verily, we too are ranged [before Him in worship]; 165 we are they that give glory. 166 They say, 167 “If only we had the Reminder which had been granted to the people of yore 168 We would have been the chosen creatures of God." 169 but they have rejected it, [the Quran] and they shall soon learn! 170 And verily Our word went forth of old unto Our bondmen sent (to warn) 171 That they would be helped, 172 and that Our army will be triumphant. 173 So turn away from them for a while. 174 See them and soon they shall see. 175 So are they being impatient for Our punishment? 176 When it descends into their courtyard, it will be terrible for those who have already been warned. 177 Stay away from them for a while 178 And (then) see, for they too shall see. 179 Exalted be your Lord, the Lord of Glory, above what they attribute to Him, 180 And peace be unto the sent ones. 181 And all praise to God, the Lord of all the worlds. 182
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
