Indeed, We created the human. We know the whisperings of his soul, and are closer to him than the jugular vein. 16 When the two receivers receive, seated on the right and on the left. 17 Not a word does he utter but there is a sentinel by him, ready (to note it). 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the trumpet shall be blown; that is the day of the threatening. 20 And every soul shall come, with it a driver and a witness. 21 (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" 22 And (unto the evil-doer) his comrade saith: This is that which I have ready (as testimony). 23 (The sentence will be:) "Throw, throw into Hell every contumacious Rejecter (of Allah)!- 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 who has set up with Allah another god. Indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment' 26 ۞ Man's other self' will say: "O our Sustainer! It was not I that led his conscious mind into evil [nay,] but it had gone far astray [of its own accord]! 27 [Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning. 28 The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. 29
