He said: my Lord! expand for me my breast. 25 And ease for me my task 26 And loose a knot from my tongue. 27 that they may understand my words. 28 Appoint for me a henchman from my folk, 29 “That is Haroon, my brother.” 30 Confirm my strength with him 31 And share my task, 32 so that we may glorify 33 "And remember You much, 34 You are Well Aware of our situation." 35 He said: surely thou art granted thy petition, O Musa! 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 when We revealed what was to be made known to your mother, 38 "Cast him into the ark, and cast him into the river, and let the river throw him up on the shore. An enemy of Mine and his shall take him." And I loaded on thee love from Me, and to be formed in My sight, 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 And I have chosen you for Myself: 41 "Go with your brother. Take My miracles and do not be reluctant in preaching My message. 42 Go, both of you, to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 43 “And speak to him courteously, that perhaps he may ponder or have some fear.” 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 The Lord replied them, "Do not be afraid; I Am with you all the time, listening and seeing." 46 "So go you both to him, and say: 'Verily, we are Messengers of your Lord, so let the Children of Israel go with us, and torment them not; indeed, we have come with a sign from your Lord! And peace will be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 Surely it has been revealed to us that the chastisement will surely come upon him who rejects and turns back. 48 He said: who is the Lord of you twain, O Musa! 49 Musa said: our Lord is He who vouchsafed unto everything its creation, then guided it. 50 [Pharaoh] said, "Then what is the case of the former generations?" 51 Said Moses, 'The knowledge of them is with my Lord, in a Book; my Lord goes not astray, nor forgets -- 52 "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 53 Do you eat, and pasture your cattle! Surely in that are signs for men possessing reason. 54
