Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
