Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 (the angels of mercy or the angels of wrath,)" then, he will realize that it is time to leave this world. 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
