Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
50 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah) before Q (Qaaf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 1 storming tempestuously 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 So when the stars are made to lose their light, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the time comes for messengers to meet -- 11 To which Day has this task been deferred? 12 For the Day of Sorting out. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former generations? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 In this wise We do with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 19 Did We not create you of a mean water, 20 The which We placed in a place of rest, firmly fixed, 21 For a known extent. 22 Thus did We Plan and how excellent is Our planning! 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 the living and the dead? 26 and have We not set on it proud, firm mountains, and given you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 (It will be said unto them:) Depart unto that (doom) which ye used to deny; 29 Depart unto the shadow three branched: 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 Verily it shall cast forth sparks like unto a castle. 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 34 On that day they will not be able to speak, 35 nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 40
