The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 They quarrel about the great news 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep [a means for] rest 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and We made the day for a livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And from the wind-driven clouds We send down waters pouring in abundance, 14 Thereby to produce grain and plant, 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 On that Day when the trumpet shall be sounded, you shall come in droves, 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 The mountains will be driven away and become like mirages. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 Finding neither sleep nor any thing to drink 24 But boiling and intensely cold water, 25 An exact recompense (according to their evil crimes). 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 and they rejected outright Our signs; 28 Everything have We recorded in a Book. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
