O YOU who have attained to faith! Seek aid in steadfast patience and prayer: for, behold, God is with those who are patient in adversity. 153 And say not of those slain in God's way, 'They are dead'; rather they are living, but you are not aware. 154 And most certainly shall We try you by means of danger, and hunger, and loss of worldly goods, of lives and of [labour's] fruits. But give glad tidings unto those who are patient in adversity 155 who, in adversity say: 'We belong to Allah and to Him we shall return' 156 Their Lord will bestow great blessings and mercy upon them; such are the people who are rightly guided. 157 ۞ Undoubtedly Safa and Marwah* are among the symbols of Allah; so there is no sin on him, for whoever performs the Hajj (pilgrimage) of this House (of Allah) or the Umrah (lesser pilgrimage), to go back and forth between them; and whoever does good of his own accord, then (know that) indeed Allah is Most Appreciative (rewards virtue), the All Knowing. (These are 2 hillocks near the Holy Ka’aba) 158 Those who conceal the clear (Signs) We have sent down, and the Guidance, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book,-on them shall be Allah's curse, and the curse of those entitled to curse,- 159 Except those who repent and amend and make manifest (the truth), these it is to whom I turn (mercifully); and I am the Oft-returning (to mercy), the Merciful. 160 Those who reject Faith, and die rejecting,- on them is Allah's curse, and the curse of angels, and of all mankind; 161 Under it they shall remain forever; their punishment shall not be lightened, nor shall they be granted respite. 162 And your Allah is One Allah: There is no god but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. 163
