[Allah said], "O messengers, eat from the good foods and work righteousness. Indeed, I, of what you do, am Knowing. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 But they (who claim to follow you) have torn their unity wide asunder, piece by piece, each group delighting in [but] what they themselves possess [by way of tenets]. 53 But leave them alone, lost in their ignorance, until a [future] time. 54 What, do they think that We succour them with of wealth and children, 55 We are hastening to reward them for good deeds? No. They do not comprehend. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 and those who believe in the signs of their Lord 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 These race for the good things, and they shall win them in the race. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 But then when We seize the affluent among them, they will cry out for help. 64 Invoke not loudly this day! Certainly, you shall not be helped by Us. 65 My revelations were recited to you, but you turned your backs 66 In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together. 67 Have they, then, never tried to understand this word [of God]? Or has there [now] come to them something that never came to their forefathers of old? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. 70 And were the truth to follow their desires there would have been corrupted the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is therein. Aye! We have come to them with their admonition; so it is from their admonition that they turn away. 71 Are you asking them for something? What Allah has given you is the best. He is the Best of providers. 72 And verily thou! thou callest them unto a Path straight. 73 And indeed those who do not believe in the Hereafter are deviated from the Straight Path. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering in distraction to and fro. 75 And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus] 76 Until when We shall open upon them a portal of severe torment, and lo! thereat they are desparing. 77
