The people of the Wood too called the messengers liars. 176 Shu'ayb asked them, "Why do you not have fear of God? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So fear Allah, and obey me. 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 “And weigh with a proper balance.” 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said: Thou art but one of the bewitched; 185 thou art naught but a mortal, like us; indeed, we think that thou art one of the liars. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said: "My Lord knows best what ye do." 188 But they rejected him. Then the punishment of a day of overshadowing gloom seized them, and that was the Penalty of a Great Day. 189 Surely there is a Sign in this, but most of them would not believe. 190 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 191
