In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
O THOU enwrapped one! 1 stand up to pray for much of the night. 2 Half of it - or subtract from it a little 3 and recite the Quran in a distinct tone; 4 Surely We will make to light upon you a weighty Word. 5 Surely, getting up at night [for worship] is the most potent means of subduing the self and most suitable for the word [of prayer]. 6 You have by day prolonged occupations [with Dawah work]. 7 But recite the name of your Lord withdrawing yourself from everything, devoting yourself exclusively to Him. 8 [He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs. 9 And patiently endure upon what the disbelievers say, and leave them for good. 10 Leave Me to deal with the deniers, lords of ease and comfort (in this life); and do thou respite them awhile. 11 We have fetters (for them) and a blazing fire, 12 food which chokes (them), and a painful torment. 13 On the day the earth and mountains will rock violently, and the mountains turn to a heap of poured-out sand. 14 Lo! We have sent unto you a messenger as witness against you, even as We sent unto Pharaoh a messenger. 15 Then Fir'awn disobeyed the apostle, wherefore We laid hold of him with a painful hold. 16 If therefore you disbelieve, how will you guard yourselves against a day that shall make the children grey-headed? 17 Whereon the sky will be cleft asunder? His Promise needs must be accomplished. 18 This is a reminder. Let anyone who wants, seek guidance from his Lord. 19
